Te Kete Aronui Rototuna Library, is the flagship building in Rototuna Village, Kirikiriroa. Along with Chow:Hill Architects and Aecom we were part of a collaborative design team delivering Hamilton's first purpose-built library and community hub.

As well as traditional library offerings, the space has a range of bookable meeting rooms, an Auaha Makerspace, and an on-site café called Chapter One. Te Kete Aronui refers to one of the three baskets of knowledge collected by Taawhaki in the Maaori legend. The name reflects the role of the library as a community space for learning and knowledge. As specialists across brand and interiors, we led the cultural engagement, identity design and custom interior elements such as the bespoke furniture and shelving, flooring pattern design, cafe design and interior finishes. As Hamilton locals we're so proud to see this space come to life and be enjoyed by the whole community.
