Harrows provide furniture solutions for spaces where people gather, relax or take a breather. They create their products mindfully and from scratch - they design, manufacture, finish and personalise, all with sustainably sourced local materials and clients’ specific needs in mind.

Our job was to redesign their Auckland showroom to bring their wide range of stunning furniture options to life.

With so many varied furniture pieces to accommodate in a large open space, our main focus was on the spatial planning and CMF. We chose a range of our favourite Harrows pieces and put them on display in zoned areas, showing the products in their proposed environments e.g. dining, lounge, meetings, workspace. Ceiling to floor curtains divide and soften the large space, and floor to ceiling shelving in the meeting area authenticates the zone and provides visual interest.

Hospitality being their main market, we designed a raised floor for the dining zone to elevate and clearly differentiate this zone from the others. LED strips help to draw attention to the hospitality zone as well as safely marking the step. We also used an LED strip under the benchtop of the existing bar, drawing attention to the bar stools sitting underneath. A bulkhead above the bar draws the eyes down to the furniture, as does the painted dado line which wraps the large space.

In such a beautiful heritage building we left many of the original features on display, including the ceiling detail, decorative scotia and industrial bolts and pipes. Cleaned up with a neutral white paint, these details provide personality and charm without distracting from the product.

A truly pleasurable space to be in, the Harrows showroom now gives their products the attention they deserve.
